THE STORY

Pawtrero™ BathHouse & Feed Co. was founded in 2002 by Shireen Nyden & Suzie Yannes along with their dogs Cheyenne & Jackson. When they met, both of their dogs were having dietary health issues, so they began extensive research on more biologically appropriate foods without chemicals, by-products and unnecessary fillers. This research and the change in foods healed both of their dogs and changed their lives forever, they then decided they needed to share this information.

Suzie & Shireen were also commiserating over how muddy their dogs would get after one trip to the dog park without any convenient place to bath them. The only alternative was to take their dirty dogs home and dump them in their tubs - we all know the outcome of this scenario: dirty tub... shake, shake, shake... wet and dirty house! 

Pawtrero opened in October of 2002 in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco with their second location opening in June of 2005 in South Beach.

OUR MISSION 

The mission of Pawtrero is the education of nutrition for your pet. We research every product that is carried in our stores. We pride ourselves on our knowledge and make it the highest priority to not only know where the foods are being manufactured, but also where the manufacturers are sourcing their proteins, as well as how these animals have been raised. We work closely with a holistic vet for recommendations on specific issues. This philosophy of quality and education has continued into all of the products that are carried in our stores.

Our passion is raw and real food! We provide one of the largest selections & great prices on raw and holistic diets for cats and dogs. They are built to eat it and they crave it! The benefits really show in the overall health of the animals that are fed an unprocessed diet.

Not only is Pawtrero a local family-owned independent pet supply store, but we also prefer to source as many products as possible from local companies. We take pride in our extensive variety of raw foods, treats and accessories from our incredible local vendors.
